Brides are always trying to find ways to save money or cut costs where they can when planning their wedding. There are many ways to spend less and still have your memorable dream wedding. I will go over three different ways to plan your affordable wedding through drastic cuts, self reflection and communication.

The quickest way to save money for any event, not just weddings, is to reduce the guest list. Simple math will always win when it comes to guest lists, a wedding for 50 guests costs less than a wedding for 100. Making cuts to a guest list is always hard and full of second and third thoughts but setting your goals and keeping strictly to them makes all the difference. Some quick tips on reducing numbers would be to make the event adults only, remove plus ones from your invitations and leave off the second cousin you see every second year at Christmas. Keep your list down to close friends and family you see on more than the holidays.
Do some deep self reflection when it comes to those must have details for your wedding. Is it possible that what you believe you can't do without can be forgotten and you wouldn't notice? For example there was a Bride who had to have herself and all the Bride's Maids wear three quarter length white gloves. The gloves were insisted upon and no price was too expensive to get what she knew she had to have. Her beautiful wedding day came and was celebrated and enjoyed by everyone. Later while packing away all the decor and wedding odds and ends were the boxes for the gloves found. Only then did the Bride realize that her have to have item was missed and she never noticed. Is it possible you have some items on your have to have list that you could honestly do without and the day would still be as wonderful as you could ever imagine?
My last little hint is the biggest cost saver of all, it will take some time but in the end may be the saving grace you need, communication. Talk with your vendors, discuss the budget you have allotted for their services and see if you can work something out. For example when selecting your florist tell them your budget and your desires and see if what you want is doable. If for some reason you can't afford what you want or you need to trim your budget a little, ask your florist if they know of ways to reduce your expense. They will most likely come back to you with the possibility of reducing the flower bud number and increasing the greenery or filler such as baby's breath or something else. Communication is truly the key to saving costs where you can. No one knows your vendors business like your vendor, go to them and talk details and they will work with you. Your vendor wants your business and will do their best to find loop holes to help you get what you can afford.
All said and done weddings can be a costly affair but they don't need to break the bank. A couple does not need to put off their celebrations until they save up tens of thousands of dollars. There are ways to save money and I hope that my few quick tips can do this for you.
